A morning meditation for confidence – will be days when we need a bit of a pick-up – a boost in our self-esteem.

Perhaps you’ve got a challenging day ahead and goals to meet, or maybe you’re just feeling a bit low. We’ve put together a short, morning meditation you can enjoy, to help boost your confidence for the day head.

If you meditate regularly and have a favourite chair, pillow or place you like be, choose that now.

Grab some paper and a pen. Turn your phone on silent, or if you’d like to put on a timer, set it up for 10 minutes.

Then, get comfortable and close your eyes.

Take a deep breath in and sigh out.

Inhale again. This time, holding the breath in for 3 seconds.

Exhale slowly, for as long as you can, until you’re empty of breath.

Inhale again and sigh out to release.

In your mind’s eye. Picture a perfect day. What are you wearing? How do you feel? What are you doing?

Notice that you feel happy thinking about the perfect day. Really feel the happiness generating in your body. Perhaps add a smile to the face.

Now, picture yourself feeling happy, ready to take on the day. Open your eyes and turn to your pen and paper.

On the left-hand side of the page, write down 10 qualities you possess. This could be:

“I am kind” or “I know how to breathe to help relax” etc.

When you have your 10 (and be kind to yourself, you do possess those amazing qualities!), on the right-hand side of the page, jot down 10 challenges that may come up today. For example:

“I have to deliver a presentation” or “I have a busy day of treatments ahead”.

Using your pen, draw a line from that challenge, to the quality you possess, that will best support that challenge. For example:

“I have a busy day of treatments” would be supported by “I know how to breathe to relax”. You can take 5 minutes to do some breathing between treatments to refresh and re-boot.

Continue down the list challenges until each one has a line linking to a supporting quality. The lines may cross over one another. Don’t worry, that’s fine. You might even have a couple of qualities linking to a particular challenge. Really make this your own – you can’t get it wrong.

Then, take a look at your piece of paper. You have now addressed all the issues that may arise today and have also, planned out how you can manage them. You are more than capable of managing any situation.

By taking time to work through this meditation, you have empowered yourself for the day ahead, boosting confidence and self-esteem!
